Do I need to sign a new tenancy agreement?
No. Existing tenants do not need to sign a new tenancy agreement. The updated agreements mainly apply to new tenancies starting on or after 1 August 2026 but your legal rights will be affected by changes to the law in Scotland

Your core tenancy rights remain protected. The updated agreements strengthen protections, improve clarity and reflect changes in legislation.
